In May 2018, the Government announced a consultation looking at factors that may increase productivity and growth for small and medium-sized businesses.
The review focuses on improving the productivity of businesses with lower productivity, sometimes described as a ‘long tail’ that lags behind the leading firms and underperforms relative to domestic and international benchmarks.
