Welcome to the CIPD Branch in the Isle of Man. Thank you for visiting our page.
I am Kim Emery, Assoc CIPD, a qualified employment and corporate advocate (lawyer) and mediator and the branch chair. I am the only dual-qualified HR practitioner and Advocate on the Isle of Man, and I believe this dual approach benefits both aspects, balancing what can be done with what should be done and bridging the gap between the board room and employees. I am currently a Senior Associate within a leading Isle of Man-based law firm with an international reach, working within both the corporate and employment teams.
Despite the challenges faced in the employment/HR sphere in recent years, our committee remains steadfast in its commitment to the HR community on the Isle of Man. We are focused on initiating more events to foster better communication, knowledge sharing, and continuing professional development opportunities. Our top priorities are raising the profile of the branch and CIPD and providing more networking opportunities.
Our committee comprises volunteer people professionals at different career levels, working in a variety of industries and HR and L&D specialisms. We look forward to seeing you at our events and should you have any proposals for future events, please do get in touch.

Get involved
Our branch comprises a diverse range of HR professionals working across the public, private and third sectors, so we have a vast array of skills and experiences to share. We want to build a people-focused, friendly branch which represents and supports the unique island community we are working in.
We hold evening and lunchtime events covering a variety of relevant subjects including changes in the General Data Protection Regulations and its impact on HR practitioners, the impact of VUCA, mock Employment Tribunals and the Equality Act.
We're working towards providing greater input into public policy agendas which affect our working lives.
