Welcome to our branch

Welcome to the South West London branch.

We’re committed to the CIPD objective of championing better work and working lives, and we aim to provide support and opportunities to all our members, to help them to grow and develop throughout their careers. We are here to create a welcoming and supportive environment and are passionate about bringing research into practice.

Our committee brings together a strong team of complementary backgrounds, skills and experience so they can each contribute to creating our branch programme of activities for local people professionals.

We have a diverse group of volunteer members working at different career stages in a broad range of industries representing all membership levels.

I look forward to seeing you soon at one of our branch events.

Get involved

Our team of enthusiastic volunteers arranges a varied programme of events (both in-person and virtual) that we hope will give you new ideas, increase your CPD, and share views with like-minded people and professionals. Our events can also take several different formats to make sure you take away as much as possible for either your work or study the next day; this could include presentations, workshops or even casual meet-ups. If you have any suggestions for subjects you would like to see covered please get in touch.

We are also part of CIPD London so we work closely with the other London branches to draw on collective expertise and contacts, and make sure we collaboratively offer our CIPD members a broad range of subjects and opportunities to network.

Our online branch events can be watched afterwards via YouTube.

There are a number of ways that you can get involved:

  • Attend one of our events.
  • Offer a venue or your support as a speaker for an event in the future.
  • Become a volunteer branch committee member to help with anything from planning events, identifying speakers, promoting CIPD membership or even updating our social media.
  • If you want to get involved but can’t give the time commitment, we’re an inclusive group and we always welcome 'friends' of South West London branch.

Time commitment can be flexible so get in touch with us if you would like more information or would just like an informal chat, we would love to hear from you. Find out more about branch volunteering below.

As a branch, we know how important it is to build and maintain our relationships with education centres. We partner with Roehampton University and Kingston University. We are pleased to promote CIPD memberships and our branch events to support those joining the profession and those wanting to develop their knowledge further.
