The CIPD has been awarded ‘best newcomer’ at the 2023 Investors in the Environment (iiE) Awards, in recognition of our progress on sustainability since joining the iiE accreditation scheme in 2022. The judges were particularly impressed with our work to reduce our carbon footprint and develop relevant resources for our members.

Our win follows recent news of us joining the United Nations Global Compact, pledging commitment to ten principles on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. With more than 17,000 participants in over 160 countries, the Global Compact is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative.
