RHP scoops top prize at the 2015 CIPD People Management Awards
The winners of the 2015 CIPD People Management Awards were announced last night, at a glittering awards ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel, hosted by radio and television broadcaster Sandi Toksvig. Delivered by the CIPD, the professional body for HR and people development, in partnership with People Management Magazine, the awards are the most prestigious in the industry, recognising outstanding and innovative achievements in people management and development.
The awards are divided into eighteen categories and were open to all types of organisation, regardless of size or sector. This year saw another record number of entries, highlighting the clear contribution that HR professionals make in building sustainable and successful organisations.
RHP, the local housing company, were crowned overall winners for their campaign ‘iamrhp’. The campaign committed to raising the bar in RHP’s staff engagement, aligning behaviours around core values and outcomes, not just in terms of better service for its customers (tenants and homeowners), but also to form the fulcrum around which the organisation would become more attractive to investors. One of the outcomes of the campaign has been RHP’s improved customer satisfaction scores for 2014-15 at 97%, up from 88% in 2010, demonstrating real business value.
Commenting on the awards, Peter Cheese, Chief Executive at the CIPD, said: “2015 has been another fantastic year for showcasing how organisations of all kinds are developing more diverse and innovative approaches to people management and development that are creating lasting business impact and value. We’ve seen some great examples in the entries for this year’s awards, and it's encouraging to see how HR teams are responding to the changing demands and challenges we are all facing.“All our winners should be very proud of what they have achieved and their much deserved recognition across a wide range of categories. As the overall winner, RHP’s cultural change initiative showed a real focus on key issues such as improving workplace agility, and employee skills and behaviours, with a clear understanding of how they can drive business outcomes and success. We congratulate them and all of our other winners.”
Mike Beesley from headline sponsors Resource Management, said: “The UK has one of the most diverse and interesting people industries in the world and this was excellently demonstrated by the talent and quality across all categories at the PMAs this year. Having a front row seat on both the judging process and in the final run up was an exciting and insightful process - we offer our full congratulations to those who left the Grosvenor with an award. Well done to everyone at the CIPD also for putting on such a fantastic evening that truly recognised and celebrated the industry and its many achievements."
