This year the CIPD will start an important review of the CIPD Code of Conduct, which will be 10 years old next year. The CIPD Code of Conduct is an actionable set of obligations which apply to all levels of CIPD membership.

As well as benchmarking the CIPD Code with Codes from other professional membership bodies and regulators, we are building on the experience of the last 10 years reviewing complaints received. You can expect that the new Code will have a higher degree of focus on ethics and ethical practice.

Our consultation process will allow you to participate in several different ways and we are encouraging input from across the People profession, members and non-members. It is important to reflect how the profession has changed over the last 10 years, with this diverse engagement we will create a robust Code of Conduct which sets out the expectations that are not only relevant now but support the profession being future fit.
