Annual General Meeting for Leicestershire Branch CIPD
Our purpose is to promote and champion the objectives of CIPD, Championing Better Work and Working Lives, through connecting all our members with a network of support, resources and best practices. We provide our members and aspiring members, from students to fellows, a range of exciting generalist and specialist HR&D topics, including sharing latest research and trends. Attending our events gives you regular opportunities to boost your personal development, discover new areas of specialisation and explore new thinking, whilst networking with fellow professionals.
We are an active branch, supported by a diverse committee, with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences and invite you to get involved and look forward to seeing you at one of the branch events.

Our Leicestershire branch is a vibrant, welcoming and enthusiastic community with over 2100 members from a diverse range of backgrounds in HR, OD and learning and development.
Whatever your professional needs and interests we can support you. The Leicestershire branch offers a range of timely, inspiring and thought-provoking events which will help to aid continuous learning and development - these are free for members and are a great opportunity for CPD and networking.
Our events are currently being held virtually and we welcome all CIPD members along with potential new members with a passion for HR, OD and learning and development.
The branch runs a local member-to-member mentoring scheme for CIPD members. Presently we are particularly keen to attract new mentors.
A relationship in which a more experienced colleague uses his or her greater knowledge and understanding of the work or workplace to support the development of a more junior or inexperienced member of staff. Mentoring involves the use of the same models and skills of questioning, listening, clarifying and reframing associated with coaching.
In Leicestershire we have been running our current mentoring programme for three years, connecting those who have something to offer and are looking at developing their mentoring skills with those who could really do with some support from a more experienced colleague.
At the moment our primary way of connecting mentors and mentees is via a Linked-In group. Potential mentors and mentees can join and search for suitable mentoring partners. If you are interested, or are looking for more details, please contact the CIPD Leicestershire Branch.
Led by Joy Collison, Chartered FCIPD, our Independents and Freelancers group has been established since 2019 and we have experience and knowledge not limited to but including the world of generalist HR, L&D, strategic planning, employee relations, wellbeing and business psychology.
We meet monthly to discuss, explore and share knowledge across a broad range of subjects such as mental health, furlough, redundancy and current HR challenges. We are fortunate to have a group of experts who are willing to facilitate sessions in their areas of expertise, and we welcome any independent Leicestershire based people practitioners to our group.
CIPD Midlands aims to promote the CIPD purpose throughout the Midlands region by sharing best practice, improving links between the individual branches and providing networking opportunities for all our members. We are also a part of the Midlands Area Partnership (MAP), a regional group of ten branches in the Midlands area which combine to cover 20,000 CIPD members.
