Welcome to the CIPD Mid and North Anglia Branch area. We have around 3,000 plus members in our branch which covers a wide geographical area.
We recognise that our geography makes branch wide events impractical for most members. We have been operating via three Groups - Cambridgeshire, Greater Peterborough and Norfolk. It is the Groups who organise most of the events and maintain contact with members, colleges and employers in their area.
All Branch and Group Committee members are unpaid, acting in an voluntary capacity for the benefit of CIPD members and the Institute as a whole.
We are looking for branch committee members
Recently there has been a break in branch activity in Mid and North Anglia Branch whilst we have been lacking in volunteers to set up and run the branch activities. But we are keen to re-establish the Mid and North Anglia branch in order to line up a programme of relevant, topical and developmental events in the three geographical groups areas; Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and Norfolk.
CIPD branch committee members come from a wide range of sectors and industries and give their time voluntarily. Being part of a committee provides opportunities to learn new skills and develop those that your day job doesn’t offer. The committee meets regularly (sometimes online) to plan and deliver several branch events each year. All branches are supported by a team of staff colleagues based at CIPD’s London headquarters who provide induction, training and content suggestions for local events. Every branch holds an annual meeting in May or June when a committee elections take place so now is a good time to join to shape the committee before formalising it at the AGM.
On Thursday 8 February we held a networking and recruitment open evening for CIPD members in based in the Anglia region interested in joining the branch committee. This well-attended event has provided some new volunteers to form a branch committee. We hope to line up some branch activities shortly. Please ensure you have joined our mailing list (sign up below) in order to be kept informed.

Welcome to the CIPD Norfolk Group area.
The Norfolk CIPD Committee is made up of volunteers who are committed to supporting the local HR community, acting in their best interests as well as being an ambassador for the CIPD and our profession.
To meet this aim, as a committee we run approximately six events per year on a wide range of topic areas to meet the needs of the diverse HR community in which we operate. Previous events have included CIPD Panel Debate, Evening with Peter Cheese, How Engaged is your Workforce, Coaching for Conflict and not forgetting our Annual Conference and Exhibition and Summer Social.
In addition to these events, as a committee we also operate a successful Mentoring Programme enabling those at any stage of their HR career to be supported by an HR professional outside of their organisation, covering areas such as career development, confidence, building relationships, managing upwards, membership upgrading as well as practical HR topics such as absence management, flexible working, employee engagement and so on.
Whether you are new to HR, new to the area or have been in the profession for some time, our events offer a great opportunity to learn, develop and engage with peers in an informal and friendly environment.
Should you have any ideas for future events or wish to provide feedback on events attended, we would be happy to hear from you. Please contact us at Norfolk@cipdbranch.co.uk.
