Welcome to our branch area
Welcome to Shropshire Branch. We are here to support all our HR and Learning & Development members, as well as local business professionals and those interested in people management and development.
Please come along and take part in our events, not just for your continuous professional development, but to network with a diverse group of people who all want to champion better work and working lives.

Learn about our branch
Each year we provide a varied programme of events and workshops to educate, encourage and enthuse our members. We're building on the success of our recent new Profession Map workshop and will focus on the knowledge and behaviours needed to create value and impact in the people profession. We encourage feedback and comments on our programme, to ensure we continue to meet your needs and interests
Our branch events and workshops are available to view and book from this website or directly from Eventbrite. We publicise our programme of activities via branch mailings and on Twitter @CIPDShropshireBranch, so please do interact with us and keep in touch.
We work hard to keep our costs down, enabling us to offer many of branch events with no payment for CIPD members and with only a small charge to non-members.
We're also part of the Midlands Area Partnership (MAP) which gives our CIPD members access to further regional events and conferences. In addition, we've been building strong links with providers of CIPD accredited courses in Shropshire, including local colleges and universities.
CIPD Shropshire is run by a volunteer committee of enthusiastic HR and L&D practitioners and student members and supported by a team from the CIPD head office. Committee members are directly involved with the planning and running of branch events, giving them great opportunities to collaborate with others, develop new skills and keep updated with CIPD good practice and current guidance.
If you would like to find out more about the committee and any current vacancies, please come and have a chat with us at our next event where committee members can be identified by their rainbow lanyards, or send us a message via email@example.com.
Special interest group
Employment law group
We've an established and popular special interest group (SIG) which meets several times a year to discuss and explore relevant employment law topics and issues. We're very fortunate to have these sessions hosted by an experienced and knowledgeable barrister, giving important legal context and interpretation of recent case law.
You can keep in touch with us by signing up to our newsletter.
CIPD Midlands aims to promote the CIPD purpose throughout the Midlands region by sharing best practice, improving links between the individual branches and providing networking opportunities for all our members. We are also a part of the Midlands Area Partnership (MAP), a regional group of ten branches in the Midlands area which combine to cover 20,000 CIPD members.
