We recognise that these are particularly challenging times for our members, and that finding the time or capacity to focus on your continuing professional development may be proving tricky. However, your professional development still remains important – even more so as no one knows what shape our ‘new normal’ may take.
There are lots of ways you can continue to develop. These include:
- Attend webinars or other virtual workshops. The CIPD has a comprehensive programme of webinars on the coronavirus pandemic, racism in the workplace, employment law, ethics and more which are also recorded for you to listen to again
- Undertake CIPD’s online short courses (free to all members) on the Profession Map behaviours
- Improve your knowledge on a specific subject. You may want to use the resources on our website
Learning through reflection
Alternatively, you may learn simply through your current work, whether that’s supporting colleagues through this time, researching or leading a new approach to people practice, or learning about new sectors when working with new client organisations.
Whatever you’re doing, take time to reflect on your learning.
Remember, any activity where you’re learning and reflecting is part of your professional development.
