ARC 2018 conference papers
Publishing opportunities for papers presented at ARC 2018 are now open for short or full papers. The deadline is 31 March 2019.
- Short 2-3,000 word papers summarising the research for practitioner and policy audiences, to be published on the CIPD website.
- Full papers to be considered for fast-tracked peer review with our partner journals, Journal of Organizational Effectiveness: People and Performance (JOEPP) and Human Resource Management Journal (HRMJ).
These papers will be made freely available on our website with the aim of raising the profile of your research among practitioners. We will promote the papers through our social media channels and potentially through our publications, People Management and Work.
Format: Papers should be 2,000 to 3,000 words (maximum) and particularly focus on the practical and/or policy implications of the research. It should be written in line with the CIPD’s house style and references guide.
Process: Please submit your papers to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line ‘ARC CIPD paper’. The paper should be sent by the author (or by the lead author, cc’ing co-authors). Please include the following statement in your covering email: 'I, the author, / On behalf of the authors, I, the lead author, [delete as appropriate] hereby confirm that: CIPD may reproduce the article and publish it on its website; copyright is retained by the author(s); the article is a piece of original work; all intellectual property is suitably referenced; and any inaccuracies are the responsibility of the authors.'
Full papers will be considered for fast-tracked publication in JOEPP or HRMJ. Where papers are not invited to peer review, an editor in chief will provide informal feedback on the paper without this constituting a rejection from the journal.
Format: These full papers must be in line with the author guidelines for Human Resource Management Journal.
Process: Please submit your papers to email@example.com with the subject line ‘ARC full paper’. We will then pass these to the editors for selection for fast tracking. We aim, where possible, to publish them before the next ARC in December 2019.
Professor Ian Beardwell Prize: Full paper submissions will also be considered for the CIPD Professor Ian Beardwell Prize for an outstanding research paper. The winner will be announced at the end of the 2019 conference and the authors will receive a certificate and £1,000 prize.
